Another one of my creators, thou they more of reside in “ancient” lore, basically they are consider a giant demon manta ray


There is not much know of the water witch species, they are a very large aquatics, Yara here is a rather runty witch being only 13 by 16 feet in length

The water witches are salt water oriented and much like orca whales can handle extremely cold waters, though they will migrate to warmer waters time to time especially during the mating season

Also like whales they breath air and hold their breath while going deep under water, however a water witch can easily out last a whales ability to hold its breath.

Sometimes a water witch will capture pockets of air in their “fin webbing” and bring it down with them, they often use this method for supply fresh oxygen to subterranean caves they might be inhabiting.

A lot of times a water witch will glide just below the surface, if not just float up top on their backs, sunning their bellies


The upper “mandibles” are a fixed structure designed for rooting deep into sand while they with scoop up mouthfuls into their mouth and extending cheek pouches to sift food out of it


Water witches are very gentle creatures especially towards other species, being highly intelligent and sociable their only problem is they tend to have a nasty habit of kidnapping people and taking them far out to sea with them for an unknown amount of time only to later drop them off at the next nearest land mass they come across


of course they make sure to take good care of their passengers while they have them along, keeping them protected and well nourished. Those few who report having traveled with a water witch explain that the only forms of sustenance a water witch has to offer is whatever living sea creature she digs up out of the sand or the milk from her breasts.. which is described as being a rich buttery texture because of the high fatty content
